Dr Rescue to the Rescue

by Chanté Classen

Hey SisterGirls!

So, I would like to introduce to you – Dr Rescue! No, I’m not referring to my sister (we’ll speak about her one day soon).

But first, let me give you some context.

I am a female so cannot live without something on my lips – yip, you’ve guessed it! I’m talking about lip balm! I’ve tried MANY lip balms, but about a month ago, I discovered this brilliant lip balm called Baby Lips Dr Rescue; a product by Maybelline. It’s odd because I always said that I wouldn’t use a Maybelline or Rimmel or any other product by these brands as they only cater for those who indulge in lipsticks (among other cosmetics).

I’m a lip balm girl!

It was the saddest thing for me because I felt somewhat naked. Given that I don’t really apply make-up on a daily basis; I cannot go without my lip balm!

Then this morning, my very sweet significant other, went into the store to go and purchase a new one for me. Prior to launching into the shop, he was carefully instructed. “Baby, it says ‘Baby lips, Dr Rescue’ on the covering and it also says ‘Maybelline New York’. The container is white and the covering is transparent and the name of the product is printed in a peachy colour”. Noted, he stormed off! Sitting in the car, patiently yet anxiously waiting for him to return, with much belief that my instructions were precise enough for him, I waited…

Excitedly, he came back! I saw that it was the correct size, with the correct ‘Maybelline New York’, with the correct  ‘Baby Lips Dr Rescue’… my heart was overwhelmed with exhilaration! But then… I looked closely and saw that it was the INCORRECT SHADE! It was not the ‘Just Peachy’ (that is the shade’s name) one, but ‘Pink on me’ one. My heart sank… I wanted to throw the lip balm at him.. I think I even called him ‘a silly paw paw’! but I knew I had to appreciate his effort.

I then let it go and gave it to another SisterGirl of mine and decided to go to the store Myself. In the isle, I saw the Baby lips products and my heart was elated once again! I ran to him and grabbed him off the shelf, paid for him and stormed out!! I was SUPER EXCITED to Rescue my lips again!!

But then…

I discovered that I was that SILLY PAW PAW!!!! I went and bought the INCORRECT SHADE too!!! (SIGH).  This time, I got the ‘Coral Crave’ shade. However, I’ve been testing it and it’s really not bad at all.

These products are amazing and I’ll recommend these babies to any SisterGirl. The Baby lips Dr Rescue products are medicated so they have that menthol, cooling effect on your lips. They, too, definitely rescue those dry, chipped Winter lips. It is very sheer and natural looking. ‘Just peachy’ has a hint of colour so if you like that natural, pearly colour – get him!

At the end of the day, although I didn’t get the shade I wanted, I’m happy because Dr Rescue came to my rescue!
